It's a bit of red cellophane cut into the shape of a fish. You put it on your palm and it moves — curls up, flips about, sometimes just lies there looking defeated. Apparently this tells you if you're passionate or jealous or, and I'm reading this off the packet, 'dead one.' It's reacting to the moisture on your hand, which seems like a roundabout way to discover you have a working palm, but people have been buying these since the 1960s so what do I know.
Anyone who needs something peculiar for under five quid. Party bags, stockings, that drawer in the kitchen where you keep things that might be useful someday.
